Christi (pt 3 - Complete!)

Hey there! Just sharing some images of Christi's finished shoulder bag!! It's a tad bigger than we originally planned, but the fabric was a bit pricey. So I figured you may as well get your moneys worth!

I know, I'm so thoughtful... :)

Lots of images below!!

Above: Straps & pocket are sewn. After that, I pinned everything together to start sewing the rest!

This is the inside of the bag. The bottom panel & pocket are attached to the main bag. Pretty interior, right?

Voila! Fini! N'est-ce pas mignon?

Yes, I'm french all of the sudden.

Meaning: There! Finished! Isn't this cute? :)

Flat view of the bag!

An image to showthe bottom panel of the bag.

My signature label, of course.. ;)

Interior! The fabric of this bag is actually just one fabric. Most quilted fabrics have an "exterior" & and "interior", but they are attached. Because of this, to prevent ugly-looking seams on the inside of the bag, I used black stain ribbon to make the seam. At first, I was a little worried about how it would look. But after I did it, it actually looks really nice!! A ton better than if I just left it as-is.

Closer look. You can see the ribbon along the bottom panel here.

Bag Details:
10" in length x 14 7/8" in width x 4.5" in width (taken from bottom panel)
Straps (2): 28.5" in length x 1" in width
Inside pocket: 5.25" in length x 8" in width
No enclosure for this bag.

Yay!! Happy to finally be done! & I'm sure Christi is too! :) Hope you enjoyed this bag! There are many more to come!

Next, on to my cousins bag!

Have a great weekend!

Christi (pt 2 - Cut)

Well I didn't get done as much as I'd hoped with Christi's shoulder bag.. because I still need to get something before I really start to get into it.. other than that, everything is all cut out and ready to go! :)

This bag will have 2 straps, 1 pocket outside, 1 pocket inside (she has a bit of a thing with pockets), & it will have a flat panel bottom. She chose not to go with any enclosure for this... which, let's face it girls, who actually closes their bag all the time?! I know I never do! ha!

Tomorrow I will be getting that one extra thing and it will be all finished before you know it! ;)

Christi (pt 1 - Fabric)

So here's a look at my sister Christi's shoulder bag fabric! It's a black and white quilted paisley print. This bag is going to be super cute! I just got done sketching, designing and taking down all the measurements!

For this shoulder bag, interfacing is not needed. The quilted fabric is thick enough where a lining isn't even necessary. I will, however, be lining the pockets and the bottom of the interior of the bag with a solid black. The opposite side of this fabric is really nice too!

(I don't know how many times I can apologize for my camera.. haha)
Isn't the interior pretty? This is why we are choosing not to line the bag!

Tomorrow I start cutting, pinning and sewing! More updates to come! Keep checking!

You must have a PayPal account in order to use this option. It's free and extremely easy! And very fast and efficient! I highly recommend.

As a reminder, any bag being purchased throughout the month of October, 50% of the proceeds will be donated to Susan G. Komen for the Cure! This is in honor of my mom having gone through breast cancer herself and all the suffering she had endured throughout that whole process. Luckily, she is a breast cancer survivor and we have her with us today. I cannot stress enough how much it means to me, and my mom especially, to have friends and family helping out and supporting this cause.

Anyone who donates will receive a certificate of donation, a pin or bracelet and an information pamphlet on self-awarness. Thank you, again.

Prices are below.

Mindy (pt 4 - complete)

Hello again! Finally finished Mindy's shoulder bag! It's been a rough week as far as when I could work on this because I've been so busy! But-- glad it's done and now it's ready to go to it's rightful owner. :) Lots of images below... check it out!

Above: Here I had just attached the inside pocket to the interior. Then the two interior pieces were sewn together, along with the bottom panel.

Here she is! Sorry about this particular image being so dark. Again, my camera sucks.. what do ya want me to do?? :) 100% honesty here, I would totally rock this shoulder bag myself! (Too bad I must actually give it to Mindy... *sssigghh*) haha! OH, and notice there are two (2) straps now. I figured if I only did one strap, attached at each end of the bag, then had the magnetic snap in the middle... the opening to the bag would actually make a bow shape while the snap is closed. I found that to be highly annoying, so I switched it up a little bit! Looks great now!

Here is the interior of the bag. I usually can't take images of the interior because as I have said numerous times... my camera sucks. Lucky for me & you guys, it worked this time! Woo, woo! See how nice and spacious it is?!

Another exterior shot. You can kind of see the little ruffley here better than the first image. Cute, cute.

Side shot (with the tracy larish label)! ;)

Last but not least, the bottom of the bag! I usually make bags where the front of the bag and the back of the bag are sewn together all the way around. In this case, I wanted to make that bottom panel so it's a little bit more 3-dimensional & roomy for all of Mindy's goodies! I used a medium-weight interfacing so this bag is slightly stiff, but not too stiff. It's actually just perfect!

Bag Details:
10.5" in length x 15 3/8" in width x 4.5" in width (taken from bottom panel)
Straps (2): 19.75"
Inside pocket: 5" in length x 8" in width
Magnetic snap enclosure.

Next order!! :)
