Update // Upcoming Projects

Here's a quick look at where we're at with our new place. My dad started painting the basecoat. Already looks 10 times better than that blood red they had going on there. I couldn't stay for too long because the Kilz smelled horrid & I don't want to harm my itty bitty. I just snuck in real quick to measure windows for curtains & snap a couple photos of the progress. I'd say for our first day (or the fam's first day as the case were...), it's coming along quite nicely! The Mister & I truly appreciate all the help we're getting from my parents and my sister! I'm on vacation, but can't be around all the toxins floating around and the mister works all day! So thank you to my fam for helping us out!! :)

Master bedroom all "basecoated-up"!

Bathroom looks 10 times better too! Just a little tidbit of information here... if you have a teeny tiny bathroom & no window, such as I... never ever paint the walls a dark color. Dark colors in general make things seem smaller. Choose a light, airy color to brighten & open the room up a bit! No sense in closing yourself in an already tiny space.

Christi & dad working furiously to basecoat the blood red out of the kitchen! Christi even came in her work clothes to help out! ha

Here's an upcoming project I'll be working on. It's so simple & easy! This really old roll-away stool belongs to the mister. The top opens up and he used it as a "computer parts holder" until he couldn't fit anything else in there! Because we're moving, A LOT of compromising has to be dealt with amongst eachother. In other words, we're trying to condense our shinanigans into stuff we need or stuff we really will use on a regular basis. At the same time, it is hard to let go of something you've had for a long time. So we decided compromising to make us both happy is the way to go. I asked if he wanted to keep this thing and he said yes. I asked where we would put it and he answered in the living room. Ok. Fine. But have you noticed it's kind of an eye sore? Not too pretty. So I suggested if he lets me revamp this baby, we'll keep it. He agreed!

So today I went out to Joann's and picked up some canvas & spray paint. Although someone else will have to spray paint it for me, I am eager to get this done! I'll post the finished product as soon as it's done! :)

In other news, I'm going to be making all the curtains for our new place! Here's a look at the fabric I've selected for our kitchen! I've had this new obsession with vintage pyrex bowls so I used all the colors of my bowls as inspiration for the colors in my curtains. Plus I like the little birdies!

Hope you're enjoying your Monday! The mister is taking me out on a date for my birthday tonight!

I have a song! ;)

So I've always kind of complained that there has never been a song about "Tracy". There's Donna, Sherry, Susie, Sheila "Oh, oh sheila I'm guna love you til the mornin comes". Sorry, I just couldn't resist! :D Point is, there's TONS and not enough with "Tracy", don't you agree?

Low & behold, thanks to the 60s satellite station my mom listens to (24-7) played this! It's called "Tracy" by The Cuff Links! ha! This song/video is from 1969! Thank you You Tube! Hope you enjoy it as much as I do! ;)

Our New Place {Before}

Today the mister & I got the keys to our new place! I decided to take some photos of the crappy lookin paint job to show the 'before'. I'm so glad we can paint! I could not live with these odd colors. You'll understand when you see them. I love color, but no thanks. ;) This week the mister, plus family members, will be helping with the new paint. Minus me, of course, because I have an itty bitty to take care of! We're so excited to get out of our rinky-dink apartment we're in now and can't wait to see the outcome when it all comes together!

{Above} Master bedroom. Nice big windows!

Other side of bedroom. Pretty spacious.

Our teeny-tiny bathroom. It'll do! :)

This is a little storage space leading to the bathroom. A "linen closet" if-you-will. Definitely planning on looking for more shelving units for this space. Plus some sort of enclosure. We'll need it.

One side of the living room. My little sewing "nook" will be along the green wall. Can't wait for that!!

Other side of the living room. Still have to pan out the details of what will go where on this wall. I do know, however, Toby's bed/crate will go in the corner (about where my mom is standing).

This is the hallway leading to my itty bitty's room. I should warn you about the pepto bismol pink....

And there it is... Pretty bad, I know. Luckily we're definitely painting this space too!

Other side of the "Pepto room". If you notice in the closet here, there's more storage space beyond the door you see IN the closet. Pretty neat.

Kitchen! Isn't it a nice size? It's bigger than it looks in the photo. We're thinking of getting an island on wheels or something. That way there's more storage space and we can move it out of the way when we have company!

Other side of the kitchen. This is where our table will go. We don't have a huge table, so this will be perfect!

I'm so excited I can hardly stand it! It's going to turn out so pretty! I'll be posting new photos of our progress and then "the afters" throughout the next week.

Until then, Happy Weekend! Momma's birthday tomorrow & my birthday on Monday so I'll be a busy one! ;)

Those were the days...

Well it seems like many moons ago, but it was actually just about 6 years ago! It's amazing what you find around your apartment/house when you're getting things together to move. We haven't seen these pictures in ages! So when we came upon them, I knew I had to share! These we're taken at the Mister's old apartment in Le Roy.

I love this man with all of my heart!!

(Left) If you notice behind me on the wall here (click to enlarge if needed), yes.... it is in fact a newspaper clipping of Tom Brady. I am sad to report his love affair with the New England Patriots quarterback started WAY before I was even in the picture.
(Right) Isn't he cute? Those glasses he has on were from when he was like, I don't know... 2?! And he still wears them to this day. How he sees out of them, I will never know.

To think, this happened all because of Wal-Mart! ha! Who would've thought at ^^^ this point we'd be happily married 4 years later and then 2 years after that expecting an itty bitty! :) Life could not be greater than at this moment!! :)

Go through your old pics to see what you find!

Thursday Tunes

Isn't this a wonderful summer song? This band is called Vetiver. I recently discovered them and it makes me want to go on a long road trip in the sunshine! So relaxing, I love it! Check out some more music below on some of their older albums! :) My favorite is 'Rolling Sea'!
