the weekend

So as I'm sitting here uploading my weekend photos, I realize you must think I'm crazy obsessed with my son, because I mainly post photos of just him.

Well I am. So there.

Having this little man a part of my life has made me such a better person overall. I couldn't even imagine my life without him & I don't want to. I don't even know what the heck I was doing before him. It's weird to think about.
I, too, used to get kind of annoyed when scrolling through Facebook & finding baby photo after baby photo.. kid photo after kid photo...
It's like, "okaaayyy, we get it, you LOVE your child...enough already..."
But I completely get it now. Sure, not everyone needs to know that your child ate peas for the first time or went number two in the toilet for the first time. While this might be true.. I....get it.
For me, I've always known I wanted to have a family. Have a few kids & call it a day.
My son is my life & my everything. I spend almost every waking moment with him & I'm perfectly happy with that. Don't worry, I get my little breaks. (We all need 'em, am I right?) But no matter what, my little dude is first in this mommas' eyes.

1// We went to the park with my sister & Frankie Blue-eyes (my sisters dog). We took a little walk & attempted to play on the playground. (It was a big kids playground.. not very 16-almost 17-month old friendly.) But at least he could swing! Also experienced his first Happy Meal! Didn't necessarily want to, because McDs isn't exactly healthy.. But I knew we'd be gone over his lunch time & didn't have time to throw anything together because we were already running late. So he had some chicken nuggets, a few fries, & some apple slices! Next time, I'll be more prepared!

2// Spent Saturday afternoon relaxing. We watched Aladdin & he basically loved it. Top it off with wearing mommas sunnies :)

3// Before his bath & bedtime, he had to wash his car... with his sock. Got the rims & everything. He took this very seriously.

4// Yesterday morning I had the place to myself. I sat back, relaxed, & enjoyed my cup of coffee while father-son bonding was happening. Then I get a photo sent from the hub.. of our little man with the Easter Bunny (his first time).. so at first I was kind of sad :( because I would've loved to be there to experience it. Then, I was reminded that I'm the one that gets to see & experience ALL of his firsts & the hub doesn't get as many. Ok, so fine... you can have the first Easter Bunny...but I will get the second! ;)

5// Yesterday was our first second 60-somethin' degree day this winter. Boy was it nice! Could spring really be around the corner?? -No. It's supposed to get back down into the 20s & snow again this week. yaaaaay. Anywho- I decided to run to get some more fabric, picked up an Easter outfit for little man at Target, & got my car washed, because it was desperately needed. Car wash joints on random warm days in winter are usually hoppin'. So I waited almost 40 minutes in line... it was worth it though! Now my baby girl is sparklin' like the first day I got her! ...yes... my car is a girl? I decided that yesterday... don't judge me :)

Hope your weekend was equally as productive & relaxing as mine was!

  1. Love his diligent sock car washing. So cute! And I totally get the kid photo thing too. They're kinda irresistable photography subjects aren't they?! My little one doesn't like photos so I have to sneak them of her. Haha. Curbs the number I take though ;)
